Under 300.5 runs 1.88 v 1.88 Over 300.5 Runs
thats a ripper from Ngidi
Second change bowling 150km/hr at the stumps.
Seriously chaotic bowling attack.
Impossible to settle as a batter.
4 quality bowlers. All quick. All different.
Day 1 Test 1
England 2.10, Draw 9.20, South Africa 2.24
Start of Day 2 Test 1
England 2.30, Draw 9.20, South Africa 2.02
Whatever anyone thinks about SA in the era since their batting greats began to retire, my goodness their fast bowling production line is incredible.
Losing Steyn, Philander, Morkel then Abbott leaving for Kolpak as well as Olivier (remember they are both eligible again and in Olivier’s case have returned) and then having a Rabada, Jansen, Nortje and Ngidi just take over.
That ball from Nortje to Bairstow was how you would fantasise about bowling to a player who leaves a gap between bat and pad: 150km rocket, pitching outside off and just deviating enough to miss the inside edge.
Pope played some really beautiful shots
7 down all Timber from Rabada
Thats a lovely drive from Stuart Broad
Stuart Broad only really knows 1 way to play
Rabadas name goes on the Lords Honour board with a 5fer
Jansen is a great prospect for South Africa, not only is he a promising left arm quick he is a promising batsman too, his unbeaten knock was crucial.
South Africa now have a decisive first innings lead of over 100 when it looked at one stage like it may have only been a lead of around 50 or 60.
This match may very well be finished today inside 3 days given the way the wickets have been falling
Its 1-1 heading to the Oval
