England have a fairly good draw.

Potentially 6 of their 7 games could be all played in London at Wembley which would be a significant advantage. There is the potential of a Spain v England quarter final in Italy if all things go to plan.

Surely this is England’s tournament to lose?

Someone mentioned this on another forum.

This looks like the kind of tournament teams will be happy to qualify for the next stage. I mean With 24 teams, and 16 teams qualifying for the next stage, finishing 1st in a group is not that much of a priority. With 6 groups there, 4 teams finishing 3rd will make it to the next stage.

Group A Winner
Selection Win
Italy € 1.56
Switzerland € 5.50
Turkey € 5.80
Wales € 8.00
Group B Winner
Selection Win
Belgium € 1.73
Denmark € 3.40
Russia € 5.30
Finland € 18.00
Group C Winner
Selection Win
Austria € 6.50
Netherlands € 1.36
North Macedonia € 21.00
Ukraine € 5.50
Group D Winner
England € 1.36
Croatia € 4.00
Czech Republic € 13.00
Scotland € 17.00
Group E Winner
Spain € 1.33
Poland € 6.50
Sweden € 7.00
Slovakia € 16.00
Group F Winner
Germany € 2.30
France € 2.45
Portugal € 4.00
Hungary € 34.00

Final Group Games of Group A:

Italy 1.59, Draw 3.90, Wales 8.40
Switzerland 1.73, Draw 4.10, Turkey 5.50

Group C final matches tonight:
North Macedonia 13.50, Draw 6.40, Netherlands 1.29
Ukraine 3.75, Draw 2.06, Austria 3.85

Group B Final matches tonight:
Croatia 2.40, Draw 3.90, Scotland 3
Czech Republic 8.20, Draw 3.70, England 1.62

Given this Czech team beat Scotland, and England could only draw with Scotland, surely taking +0.5 head start on the Czechs is the way to play?

Also unusual to see the Draw for a soccer match at around evens before kick off. Knowing from experience a draw should enable both teams to progress to next stage.

a draw is probably good enough for both Austria and Ukraine.

Think there is too much on the line in these knock out stages and both teams will be happy to make it to the round of 16.

To decide 4 best 3rd placed teams…

A… Points
B… Goals difference
C… Goals scored
D… Number of wins
E… Least cards yellow =1pt,red =3pts
F… Coefficient from group stages

A few years ago, Denmark and Sweden played out a predicted 2-2 draw- a high scoring draw which enabled both teams to qualify for next stage.

Croatia v Scotland now has extra significance. A draw means both teams will be eliminated.

A win for either side means they qualify for the next stage given the results of last night.

As weird as it sounds , England might not want to win- potentially could be facing Germany or Portugal. A draw matches them up in likelihood against Slovakia in the Round of 16.

So do get the feeling that England might just not go gung ho and be too sad if they don’t end up winning tonight.

The Round of 16:

Wales 5.50, Draw 3.35, Denmark 1.90
Italy 1.51, Draw 4.40, Austria 8.80
Holland 1.73, Draw 4, Czech Republic 5.70
Belgium 2.58, Draw 3.35, Portugal 3.15
Croatia 6.80, Draw 3.85, Spain 1.67
France 1.58, Draw 4, Switzerland 7.80
England 2.64, Draw 3.35, Germany 3.05
Sweden 2.44, Draw 3.20, Ukraine 3.45

just looking at odds at first glance, Wales, Czechs and Croatia seem a tad overpriced…

if your looking for a goal perspective in Germany v England

Under 2.5 Goals $1.78 v $2.16 Over 2.5 Goals

I get this feeling, given the way the German league is played, its a naturally attacking league. Im trying to make a case for overs…their last meeting in a major tourney, I remember watching that game, it was a fairly open game.

Generally believe that both teams will come to Wembley to look to score goals and not just purely sit on a lead or look to take it to penalties.

England’s best form or chance of winning this game is to make it cagey and a scrape.

Germany’s best chance is to make it an open game .
